Ross “Bill” Lee Sosebee, age 94, of LaFayette, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Bill was a longtime member of Ridgeway Baptist Church, having joined at 19 years old, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred, Lonnie, and Carl Sosebee; and sisters, Fannie Brown, Mary Ruth Harris, Ann Williams, Nell Durham, Ruby Black, Lois Edwards, Margaret Westbrook, and Betty Wilson.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Mary Ruth Brown Sosebee; daughter, Elaine Skates (Dan) Stapp; sons, Michael (Patricia) Sosebee and Wade (Kelly) Sosebee; grandchildren, Eric (Brandy) Skates, Philip Skates, Eric (Trish) Stapp, Adam Stapp, Melanie Stapp, Matthew (Candace) Stapp, Nathan (Latishia) Sosebee, Aaron Sosebee, Haley (Sean) DeLorme, Anna Claire Sosebee, and Ben Sosebee; great-grandchildren, Gabe Johnson, Griffin (Chloe) Skates, Jase Stokes, Lainey Stokes, Kynlee Stokes, Kylie Sosebee, Jaiden Sosebee, Cason Sosebee, Colton Sosebee, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Chloe, Josh, Jackson, Elijah, and Colbie; great-great-grandchildren, Evie Causby, Oakleigh Stokes, and Noah Townson; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 3, at Ridgeway Baptist Church with his son Pastor/Chaplain Wade Sosebee, Pastor Ricky Studdard, and Pastor Gary Lewis officiating.
Interment will take place at Littlejohn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Sosebee, Aaron Sosebee, Eric Skates, Philip Skates, Griffin Skates, and Gabe Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Stapp, Ben Sosebee, Sean DeLorme, and Cason Sosebee.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 pm to the hour of service at the church.
