Martha Rena Sprayberry Brown, age 77, of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born to the late Ray and Ruby Sprayberry and lived a life centered around faith, family, and the simple blessings of life. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening and bird watching. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished her family and the many memories they shared together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ruby (Parham) Sprayberry; siblings, Denny Sprayberry, Mickey Sprayberry, Tommy Sprayberry, Patricia Snodgrass, and Labron Sprayberry; and great-grandson, Casen Harmon.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas Earl Brown; daughters, Emily Brown Harmon, Lisa (Lamar) Curtis, Tammy (Reed) Gibby, and Amanda Irene Brown; brother, Rev. James (Georgia) Sprayberry; sisters, Myra Sue Bradley, Jane Teeters, and Kathy Stose; grandchildren, Cody, Hannah, Brayden, Austin, Taylor, Kayla, and Landon; great-grandchildren, Silas, Amari, and Layton; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the funeral home. A graveside service honoring Martha’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Jackie Swanson and Pastor Wilton Grimes officiating.
