Families across Walker County are invited to get ready for the new school year during Walker County Kids’ Day, a community event that will provide free school supplies, backpacks, health services and family resources.
The event will be held Thursday, July 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Saddle Ridge Elementary School, located at 9858 U.S. Highway 27 in Rock Spring.
Organizers say the event is designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year while connecting families with important community services. Free school supplies and backpacks will be available while supplies last.
In addition to back-to-school items, families will have access to free vision, hearing and dental screenings, as well as immunizations. Children can also enjoy a variety of free activities throughout the afternoon.
Community organizations will be on hand to share information about programs and services available to Walker County families.
Walker County Kids’ Day is sponsored by Walker County Family Connection, the Walker County School District and Primary Healthcare Centers.
