Charles Sharrock

Charles Sharrock, age 80, resident of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Hospice Care Center, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Mr. Sharrock, son of the late Raymond Luther Sharrock and Mary Lovie Moreland Sharrock, was born September 24, 1945 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Mr. Sharrock graduated from Ringgold High School and then began working at Sweetwater Carpet Mill. He then began a career with U.S. Pipe where he faithfully worked for over 40 years. Mr. Sharrock was Baptist by faith and former City Council Member of Fort Oglethorpe. He enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and taking care of his animals. Many would also see him watching stock car racing, professional baseball, and women’s softball games. He also looked forward to cooking for family and friends. The family remembers him as an outstanding man that would help anyone at any time – those who knew him, truly admired him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Sharrock; and former wife, Lottie Jean Sharrock.
Mr. Sharrock is survived by his brother, Raymond “Gene” (Sarah) Sharrock; sister-in-law, Shirley Sharrock; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services are scheduled at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park, 724 Hogan Road, Rossville, Georgia on Thursday, July 16, 2026, 2 p.m. with Reverend Levoyd Whitton officiating. The family will receive friends at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m.
