Janice Parton

Janice Parton, age 67, resident of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Common Spirit Memorial Hospital North, Ringgold, Georgia.
Ms. Parton, daughter of the late Monroe Ferguson and Rowena Falls Ferguson, was born November 12, 1958. She graduated from Ringgold High School and later received her associate’s degree in accounting from Georgia Northwest Technical College. Ms. Parton then worked at Jessie Thornton United Karate Studios and later retired. She enjoyed taking family years back to local attractions and was known as an avid shopper. While at home, many would find her working puzzles, crocheting, listening to R&B, or watching Disney movies. Most of all, she always looked forward to spending quality time with her family. The family remembers her as a loving and nurturing mother and grandmother.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Ferguson.
Ms. Parton is survived by one son, Bo (Erin) Gullion; two grandchildren, Elva Gullion and Katerina Gullion; two nephews, Sammy Ferguson and Mikie Ferguson; one niece, Suzy Ferguson; significant other since 1999, Gregory Fann, Sr.; close friends, Jessie Thornton, Jessie Thornton, Joy Thornton, Kathy Metzger, and Mike Metzger; many other relatives and friends.
Celebration of her life will be at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 2-4 p.m.
