Power has been restored to all customers affected by an outage that impacted portions of the City of Chickamauga on Monday.
According to city officials, the outage was caused by a problem at the shared TVA/North Georgia Electric Long Hollow substation. Officials said the issue was beyond the city’s control and was not related to the city’s electric distribution system.
North Georgia Electric crews responded to the substation and worked to restore service as quickly as possible. City officials thanked the utility’s crews for their quick response and efforts to resolve the problem.
“We appreciate North Georgia Electric for their hard work fixing the issue at the shared TVA/North Georgia Electric Long Hollow substation,” the city said in an update announcing power had been restored.
The City of Chickamauga also apologized for the inconvenience caused by the outage and thanked residents and businesses for their patience while repairs were completed.
Officials did not say what caused the problem at the substation, and no additional outages were reported following the restoration of service.
