The Walker County Board of Education will meet in regular session Monday, July 20, at 6 p.m. at the Walker County Department of Education building, 301 North Cherokee Street in LaFayette.
Board members will receive the superintendent’s report and a facilities update before considering several financial and administrative items.
Among the consent agenda items are approval of the local board training plan, updated purchasing procedures, and the district’s FY2027 Pre-K application through Georgia’s Bright from the Start program.
The board is also expected to consider the purchase of HMH Writable curriculum materials, a Chromebook purchase for Rossville Elementary School using Fund 150, new lobby furniture for the Walker LAUNCH facility using E-SPLOST funds, and a bid for ice cream and frozen desserts for the school nutrition program.
Additional items include approval of several school-related contracts and fundraising agreements, including a professional learning contract with math consultant Terry Haney, fundraising sales at Naomi Elementary School, Scholastic Book Fairs for Naomi and Gilbert elementary schools, School Days Photography services, and a World’s Finest Chocolate fundraising agreement.
The board will also consider approval of minutes from five meetings held in June, including budget sessions, a planning session and the June regular meeting.
Following any new business and public participation, the board is scheduled to enter executive session before considering personnel recommendations. The meeting will adjourn following board action on those recommendations.
