Mars Theater, located at 117 S Chattanooga Street in Downtown LaFayette, will
host “DMC LIVE: Songs From My Roots” on Friday, August 14th at 7:00 PM, featuring seasoned
performer Daniel Michael Crane in a night of classic pop, doo wop, country, and Broadway music.
Known professionally as DMC, Crane got his start singing in New York City, landing his first
professional credit at just 19 years old. Since then, he has built a career performing across the
Southeast, earning recognition including the 2024 and 2025 North America Country Music
Associations International Entertainer of the Year award. His performances span theaters, resorts,
and community events across multiple states.
“Songs From My Roots” is more than a concert — it’s an immersive, engaging show for all ages,
and a great option for a date night out. The evening traces Crane’s musical journey, from his early
days in New York to his life today, told through the songs that shaped him.
The show marks another milestone for Mars Theater, which reopened in February following a full
renovation. The historic venue is operated by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) of
LaFayette, which is working to bring new life and entertainment options to the downtown area.
“Our goal with the Mars Theater is to prove that you don’t have to drive to Chattanooga for a
great night out,” said Julie Carter, Chair of the DDA of LaFayette. “We want Downtown LaFayette
to be a destination — a place where people can enjoy quality entertainment close to home.”
