Nathanial Layne Brown

Nathanial Layne Brown, age 47, went home to be with Jesus on August 1, 2026. Born on November 6, 1978, he leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, faith and love.

Nathanial was a 1998 graduate of Ridgeland High School in Rossville, Georgia, and was proud to be on the sidelines of Panther football games as a team “manager.” He was a faithful member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Alabama.

Nathanial was a former Service Tech at Family Tire and Wheel, coming home each day to tell how many “big tires” he had changed. He was an enthusiastic and loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves and Florida Gators, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his favorite teams and always ready to throw up a Gator “Chomp!” He also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and watching his favorite Hallmark movies.

More than anything, Nathanial treasured time with family-- celebrating the holidays, getting a tan at the beach and, most of all, outsmarting his brother Donavan in spirited games of Wheel of Fortune. No matter the occasion, you could always count on finding him with a cold Pepsi in hand and cowboy boots on his feet. Nathanial will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of laughter and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He truly was “big as body.”

Nathanial is survived by his parents, Kenneth E. and Debbie Brown, Jr.; brother, Donavan Brown; sister, Heather (Jake) Cooper and children Ethan, Kenzi, Mack and Erin; sister, Lacey (Paydon) Carmon and children J.J. and Ava Joye. He also leaves behind many other relatives, friends and members of his church family who will miss him greatly.

Though Nathanial’s earthly journey has ended, his loved ones find peace and comfort in the promise of eternal life and rejoice in knowing he has now joined a host of family and friends gone before him to be in the presence of the Lord.

Family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematorium, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
