Ronald Eugene “Ron” Litts Jr.

Ronald Eugene “Ron” Litts Jr., 59, was larger than life—in personality, presence, generosity, humor, and, as anyone who ever shared a room with him can attest, volume.

Ron was a philosopher when you needed wisdom, a philanthropist when someone needed help, and a comedian whether you needed one or not. He loved deeply, laughed loudly, gave generously, and lived unapologetically as himself. There was no watered-down version of Ron Litts.

Born November 7, 1966, in Dixon, Illinois, to Ronald E. Litts Sr. and Pamela Hope Litts (Woodrow), Ron earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Finance and built a career as a consultant and arborist with Ron Litts, LLC. Intelligent, curious, opinionated, and rarely at a loss for words, Ron believed far more in doing than simply talking about doing. Two of the phrases he lived by were “Non ducor, duco”—“I am not led; I lead”—and “Acta non verba”—“Deeds, not words.”

But anyone attempting to paint Ron as a solemn philosopher would be leaving out a very important part of the man.

He was also known to remind people, “It ain’t tricking if you got it.”

Seventeen and a half years ago, Ron walked into a Hess gas station in Safety Harbor, Florida, and saw Aleksandra “Aleks.” Never one for subtlety, he walked up to her and told her she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

He married that woman.

Ron and Aleks Jagiella-Litts married on March 26, 2011, and together built the family and life that became the center of his world. They were each other’s rocks, partners, and best friends. To those who knew them well, Aleks was also affectionately understood to be Ron’s “emotional support human”—the person beside the larger-than-life man who knew his heart better than anyone.

Together, Ron and Aleks created a home centered around their children: Caleb Michael Litts, Joshua Rolland Litts, Elizabeth Kihlah Litts, and Hope Miley Litts.

Fatherhood was not simply something Ron was; caring for children was part of who he was.

Ron also had a remarkable ability to turn friendships into family. He could tease you mercilessly, argue with you enthusiastically, offer an opinion you may or may not have requested, and make certain you knew you were loved—all within the same conversation.

Those fortunate enough to know him will remember the stories, the banter, the advice, the laughter, and the unmistakable sound of Ron entering a room. He had a presence that simply could not be ignored.

He was also an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, and “Go Dawgs!” became one more entry in a long collection of Ron-isms that his family and friends will undoubtedly continue repeating in his voice for years to come.

Ron believed in supporting the things his children loved. Caleb and Joshua participated in robotics, Hope shares their enthusiasm for robotics, and Elizabeth is a cheerleader. Those interests—and the opportunities they provide children to learn, compete, belong, and discover what they love—remained meaningful to the Litts family.

Ron fought cancer with the same strength and determination with which he approached life and was also working to overcome a stroke. Ultimately, his heart, which had carried and cared for so many people throughout his life, had endured all it could.

In his final days, Ron was where he belonged: at home, surrounded by the family he had spent his life loving and protecting. His children were near him. His beloved dog, Little Pig, cuddled beside him. And Aleks—the woman he had walked up to in a Florida gas station seventeen and a half years earlier—held him as he left this life.

Ron died knowing he was safe, surrounded, and profoundly loved.

He is survived by his wife, Aleksandra Jagiella-Litts; his children, Caleb Michael Litts, Joshua Rolland Litts, Elizabeth Kihlah Litts, and Hope Miley Litts; his sister, Cynthia Hope Calhoun; and a community of extended family and friends whose relationships with Ron frequently blurred the distinction between the two.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Eugene Litts Sr. and Pamela Hope Litts (Woodrow).

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 215 Lee Avenue, Chickamauga, Georgia.

Funeral services celebrating Ron’s life will be held Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., also at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

The family kindly requests that you do not wear black but instead wear bright and cheerful colors to celebrate Ron's life.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hugh Delacruz, Caleb Litts, Dustin Dickson, Joshua Litts, Matthew Warwick, and Anthony Dye.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to honor Ron to consider making a memorial contribution to support the Gordon Lee Middle School Robotics program and the Gordon Lee High School cheerleading program, activities especially meaningful to Ron’s children and family.

There are people whose absence creates a silence.

Ron Litts may have been far too loud for silence.

Instead, he leaves behind a voice—in the sayings his family will repeat, the stories his friends will tell, the people who became family somewhere along the way, and the four children who carry forward pieces of the father who loved them.

So tell the Ron stories.

Laugh loudly.

Help somebody who needs it.

Lead instead of waiting to be led.

Choose deeds over words.

And when appropriate, remind somebody that it ain’t tricking if you got it.

Non ducor, duco.

Acta non verba.
