LaFayette Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Vehicle in Hit-and-Run Investigation

The LaFayette Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run crash last month.

According to police, the crash happened around 4:07 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, at the intersection of East Villanow Street (Georgia Highway 136 East) and the Highway 27 Bypass.

Investigators have released photographs of the vehicle in hopes someone can identify its owner, operator or current whereabouts.

Here is what the release says:

The police department is asking for your help in locating the vehicle depicted in the attached photographs.
The vehicle is suspected of being involved in a Hit & Run accident which occurred on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at around 4:07 p.m.. The accident was at the intersection of E. Villanow Street (Ga. Hwy 136 E.) and Highway 27 Bypass.
The photo depicting the front of the vehicle was captured just prior to the incident. The photo showing the rear of the vehicle was taken a few days prior to the incident.
Anyone who knows the owner/operator of this vehicle or the vehicle’s whereabouts is asked to contact LaFayette Police Department at (706) 639-1540 during normal business hours or our TipLine at (706) 639-1545. Please do not post possible suspect names in this thread.
Rest assured that we have taken all possible measures to make out the registration on the vehicle.
