Rena Mae Headrick Peters, age 91, of Ringgold, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
She was born in Ringgold to the late Cecil Headrick and Lola Fletcher Headrick. Rena was employed with Brach Candy for several years and retired later in her 70’s after more than 17 years as a private caregiver.
Rena was a devoted Christian who served the Lord faithfully and with all her heart. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brought joy to the lives of many. She was known throughout the community for her green thumb, her love of gardening, and her strong work ethic. Rena's faith, kindness, and love for her family will be fondly remembered, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Alvin Peters; sisters, Jewell Grant and Judy Adkins; and brothers, Harold Headrick, Johnny Headrick, Donny Headrick, and Lamar Headrick.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carol Hullander and Rhonda Killian (Dennis); brothers, Richard Headrick (Carolyn) and Thurman Headrick (Billie); special bonus brother, RC Grant; grandchildren, Lt. Col. Keith Callahan, Anthony Sims, and Nathan Sims; great-grandchildren, Bristol Callahan, Jacob Callahan, Tayler Lawyer, Trey Raymer, William Sims, Kaydence Sims, Jayden Sims, and James Sims; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in the funeral home chapel, with Lt. Col. Keith Callahan and Bro. Dennis Killian officiating. Interment will follow in Catoosa Memorial Cemetery in Ringgold.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
