American Legion LaFayette Post 339 is inviting the community to take part in its Veterans Ham and Turkey Shoot, with events scheduled throughout the fall and winter in LaFayette.
The shoots will be held at 204 Veterans Drive beginning at 10 a.m. on September 19, October 17, November 21 and December 19, 2026, along with January 16, February 20 and March 20, 2027.
Participants may use 12- or 20-gauge shotguns only, with full choke or under. Guns will be checked before the competition, and no sleeves are allowed. Shells will be furnished for shooters.
In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the second-closest shot.
Proceeds from the Veterans Ham and Turkey Shoot will help fund the 26th Annual Armed Forces Day Barbecue, scheduled for May 22, 2027.
