Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has declared a statewide state of emergency covering all 159 counties as Hurricane Isaias threatens to bring severe weather to portions of the state.
The emergency declaration includes Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties in Northwest Georgia.
The declaration is intended to help state and local emergency management agencies prepare for the storm and respond quickly to any damage or dangerous conditions that may develop.
