Motorists traveling along US Highway 41 in Whitfield County should expect possible traffic delays Thursday as Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) maintenance crews conduct roadway repairs.
Weather permitting, crews will repair a section of US Highway 41 between North Thornton Avenue and Willowdale Road.
The work will require the closure of the left northbound lane from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday, October 15.
Drivers traveling through the area are encouraged to reduce their speed, remain alert for construction workers and equipment, and use caution when approaching the work zone.
Motorists should also allow additional travel time and be prepared for possible traffic congestion while repairs are underway.
GDOT reminds drivers to stay alert and watch for crew members working in or near the roadway.
The scheduled work is weather dependent and could be delayed or rescheduled if conditions are unfavorable.
