The City of LaFayette has announced that kayak rentals are now officially available at Queen City Lake, offering residents and visitors a new way to enjoy outdoor recreation in the community.
According to a social media post from the city, Walker Rocks, LaFayette’s official destination marketing organization, has partnered with the city to install a self-service kayak rental kiosk along the lake shore.
The new rentals are available daily from dawn to dusk at Queen City Lake, located at 303 Lakeview Drive.
Visitors can rent a single kayak for $14.99 per hour or a tandem kayak for $29.99 per hour. Full-day rental options are also available.
The rental process is designed to be convenient, with visitors able to rent kayaks directly from the self-service kiosk using a credit card.
City officials say the addition of kayaking builds on the area’s growing outdoor recreation opportunities, which already include caving, bouldering, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
The city noted that supporting outdoor recreation of all kinds remains an important part of the community’s identity, and the new kayak rentals represent another step toward expanding those opportunities.
Residents and visitors interested in learning more about outdoor recreation in the LaFayette area can stop by the Walker Rocks Outpost, located at 411 West Villanow Street.
The new kayak rentals provide another way for families, residents, and visitors to get outside and enjoy Queen City Lake.
