The LaFayette Police Department and LaFayette Fire Department are joining forces once again to make the Christmas season brighter for children in need throughout the community.
Applications are now being accepted for the annual Shop with a Cop/Fireman program, a holiday initiative that provides local children with a special Christmas shopping experience alongside LaFayette police officers and firefighters.
The program is designed to help families facing financial hardships during the holiday season while creating positive interactions between children and local first responders.
Through the annual event, participating children have the opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts with police officers and firefighters, creating lasting memories while experiencing the joy of the holiday season.
The initiative also strengthens relationships between public safety personnel and the community they serve, demonstrating the departments’ commitment to helping local families beyond their everyday emergency response duties.
Parents and guardians interested in having their children participate are encouraged to complete the online application as soon as possible.
