Georgia Northwestern Technical College is accepting applications for a part-time Welding and Joining Lab Technician position based at the Walker County Campus.
The position works under the supervision of the Dean of Industrial Technologies and typically involves evening hours. Some travel to other GNTC campuses may be required to meet operational needs.
Responsibilities include ensuring welding lab equipment is secure and ready for student instruction, maintaining inventory of welding supplies, distributing materials to students during class, assisting instructors, helping maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, and providing support to students as directed by instructors.
Applicants must be a former or current Welding and Joining student at GNTC or have paid welding experience within the past seven years. Candidates should have knowledge of welding shop equipment and supplies and be able to work effectively with students and instructors. Applicants cannot be enrolled in the same course in which they would serve as a lab technician.
Previous experience as a welding lab assistant is preferred.
The position pays $20.00 per hour and is limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week. Employment is available only during the academic semester and does not include holidays or semester breaks.
As a part-time position, no benefits are offered.
