History will come to life in Walker County as the Battle of Franklin National Reenactment takes place October 2–4, 2026, on Walker County Industrial Drive in LaFayette.
The event will recreate the Battle of Franklin, one of the major battles of the Civil War. Organizers say the scale of the Confederate charge at Franklin rivaled Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg.
Battle reenactments will begin at 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The event grounds will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
In addition to the battles, visitors will have the opportunity to explore soldiers’ camps, meet reenactors and learn more about life and military history during the Civil War.
Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6–17 and free for children 5 and younger. Parking is $5.
