April 18 marks the first in a series of low-cost rabies vaccination clinics scheduled across Walker County this spring.
Walker County Extension, in partnership with Cornerstone Veterinarian Services, is again offering the clinics to help residents protect their pets—and their families—from rabies, a potentially deadly disease.
Dog and cat vaccinations will be available for $15, cash only. Veterinarians will provide both a vaccination certificate and tag at the time of service.
The first round of clinics is scheduled for April 18 at three locations: Gilbert Elementary from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Naomi Elementary from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Rock Spring Elementary from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
A second round of clinics will take place May 9, beginning at Gordon Lee High School from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., followed by Chattanooga Valley Elementary from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., and concluding at Rossville Elementary from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Organizers encourage pet owners to take advantage of the affordable clinics to ensure their animals are up to date on rabies vaccinations.
