Chattanooga Valley Elementary School has released its school supply lists and important back-to-school dates for the 2026-2027 academic year, giving families time to prepare before students return to the classroom in August.
The school will welcome students back for the first day of classes on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Before then, families will have an opportunity to meet teachers and find classrooms during Open House, which is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. Class rosters will be posted during the event.
School officials have also published supply lists for each grade level, from kindergarten through fifth grade. While each grade has specific classroom needs, most students will be asked to bring basic supplies such as pencils, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, notebooks, folders, tissues, and backpacks. Several grade levels also request headphones, dry-erase markers, composition books, binders, and colored pencils.
In addition to grade-specific supplies, teachers across all grade levels are requesting optional classroom donations, including hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, disinfecting spray, tissues, gallon- and quart-size storage bags, bandages, baby wipes, and AAA batteries.
Parents are reminded that water bottles should be clearly labeled with their child’s name, and many supplies, including notebooks, folders, and binders, should also be labeled before the first day of school.
The school cafeteria will open each morning at 7 a.m., with breakfast served from 7 to 7:30 a.m. Students may begin arriving at 7:20 a.m. Tardy bell rings at 7:30 a.m., and dismissal is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
School officials encourage parents to review the supply list for their child’s grade and complete their shopping before the start of the school year to help ensure students are ready for a successful first day.
