The Chickamauga Mayor and City Council will meet Monday, July 6, at 6:00 p.m. at Chickamauga City Hall, located at 1817 Lee Clarkson Road.
Following the public hearing, call to order, invocation, pledge of allegiance, approval of previous meeting minutes, and public comments, council members are scheduled to consider several items of new business.
Among the agenda items is a recommendation from the city’s auditor to finalize the amended 2025 budget.
Council members are also expected to consider an intergovernmental agreement payment between Walker County and the City of Chickamauga for street milling and resurfacing projects.
The council will vote on the appointment of Jorden Dupree to the Chickamauga Planning and Zoning Commission.
Additional transportation-related items include a bid to decorate street signs and poles during Phase 1 of improvements along Crescent Avenue and West 12th Street, as well as a review of police traffic data to determine whether speed humps should be installed on A Street and B Street.
Several grant-related projects are also on the agenda. Council members will consider accepting a Local Maintenance Improvement Grant totaling $53,376 for sidewalk projects on Trojan Way and Sherry Court. A second Local Maintenance Supplemental Grant in the amount of $57,014 is proposed for the Pinehurst Sidewalk Development Project.
The agenda also includes consideration of a $4 million grant for the Crystal Springs Mill Site Cleanup Project.
The meeting will conclude with comments from the mayor and council before adjournment.
