As the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, the City of Chickamauga is calling on military vehicle owners to help bring history to life during its upcoming Fourth of July parade.

Organizers are inviting owners of vintage and active-duty military vehicles to participate in the community celebration, themed “America 250.” The parade is expected to be a centerpiece of the city’s Independence Day festivities, offering residents a unique opportunity to see historic vehicles up close while honoring the nation’s military heritage.

Local officials say the goal is to showcase a wide range of military vehicles—from restored classics to modern equipment—giving the parade a patriotic and educational feel as the country marks this once-in-a-generation milestone.

Commander Joe Mason of American Legion Post 217 is helping coordinate participation and encourages interested vehicle owners to get involved.

“Shine up your ‘old warhorse’ and be a part of history,” Mason said in the announcement.

Those interested in մասնակցating in the parade can contact Commander Mason directly at 910-494-6978 for more details.

The Chickamauga Fourth of July celebration is expected to draw a large crowd as the community joins others across the country in commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
