Chickamauga, GA – Walker County deputies arrested a Chickamauga man Saturday, after discovering more than two dozen dead roosters on his property along with four living canines in distress.
49 year old Daniel Keith Bradley is facing 27 counts of aggravated animal cruelty for the 26 deceased poultry found at his Garrett Chapel Road home, along with one canine reportedly suffering a broken leg. Three other dogs were found under inadequate conditions and were seized for treatment by Walker County Animal Control.

Bradley was arrested and taken to the Walker County Jail while awaiting his first court appearance on the felony and misdemeanor counts.

Deputies say the investigation began with a parked vehicle reportedly blocking a driveway. The responding officer then discovered the dead chickens and soon suspected they died while cockfighting, noting other evidence found at the suspect’s residence such as leg tags, spurs, and medications, consistent with the federally outlawed blood sport.

The investigation is continuing to determine whether the suspect was involved in organized cockfighting.
