Two Rossville women have been arrested over the weekend by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office on animal cruelty charges. Morticia Bridges, 37, and Stephanie Wilson, 47, both of, 450 Schmidt Rd., Rossville, were booked into the Walker County Jail early Saturday morning on 13 charges of animal cruelty. According to jail records, Bridges was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine.
 
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a burglar.  Sometime between the dates of September 24 and September 29, a burglary occurred on Lee School Rd in LaFayette.  Electronics, tools and firearms were taken along with a  2020 gray in Honda Pioneer 1000 UTV.   Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Robert Bethune 706-670-1969.
 
The average price of gas continues to drop in the state of Georgia.  State wide the price of unleaded gas is now $3.24 per gallon.  Governor Kemp’s suspension of the states gas tax has helped prices drop.  Locally gas in Catoosa, Walker and Dade Counties is $3.10.  That’s the second lowest in the state.  Albany has the cheapest gas in the state at $3.08 per gallon.  
 
International Plasma Awareness is this week.  Blood Assurance is in need of plasma from blood types A and AB.  As of yesterday, Blood Assurance had just 27 plasma units of type A and AB combined.  The blood bank needs to have at least 100 units of both types to adequately supply local hospitals.  You can schedule your donation at BloodAssurance.org/Schedule.
