The funeral service for Walker County’s teacher of the year, Lori McWhorter will be held today.  McWhorter was one of two people killed Friday in a crash in Chattooga County.  According to the State Patrol, David Lopez lost control and collided with a vehicle driven by McWhorter on Highway One in Summerville.  Both vehicles flipped and both people died.  The funeral service will be today at 4pm at Pennville Church of Christ in Summerville.  The Walker County School system is also planning a memorial.

 
The Walker County Fire Rescue is hiring.  They are looking for firefighters with experience.  If you want to make the move to Walker County, there is a robust benefits package and the pay range for a lateral move is between $52,300 and $60,100.  If you want to apply visit WalkerCounty GA.gov.  
 
Just a reminder.  Today at 2:20pm FEMA and the FCC will be testing the Emergency Alert System and the Wireless Emergency Alerts.  You may receive a message on your cell phone, television and her on WQCH.  Just a reminder that it is a test and only a test.  No action is needed.  It’s just to make sure that the systems are working properly.
