A single car accident Saturday morning on Highway 27 claimed the life of a Trion man.  According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened Saturday morning at 6am.  39-year-old Charles Lynn Cagle was driving a Jeep Cherokee on Highway 27 South near Bicentennial Trail when he crossed the median.  The Jeep hit a ditch before striking a utility pole.  Cagle was pronounced dead at the scene.  Troopers do not believe that alcohol was involved in the crash.
Local attorney Melissa Gifford Hise has announced her campaign for Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Superior Court Jude.  Hise will run to replace Judge Kristina Cook Graham.  Graham announced her retirement earlier this week.  Hise is a former law clerk for the superior court judges of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.  That includes Walker County along with Chattooga, Castoosa and Dade Counties.  Hise is a 1986 graduated of Chattanooga Valley High School and has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Mercer and a law degree from Samford University.
The Walker County Detention Center reported seven felony arrests on Monday.  28-year-old Jose Luis Jesus was charged with possession of cocaine and DUI among other charges.  37-year-old Shirley Ann Hollinsworth was booked on 2nd degree charges of cruelty to children.  You can find the complete arrest report on our website, DiscoverWalker.com
The latest restaurant inspection report.  Lafayette Nutrition scored a perfect 100.  Papa John’s on North Main in LaFayette, and Subway in Rock Spring scored a 100.
