Walker County Schools are closed today. All after school activities are also closed. Chickamauga City Schools are closed today as well. Walker County is under a high wind warning until 7pm today. A wind advisory is in effect until Saturday at 1am. Wind gusts of 45-60 miles per hour are expected. Be sure to secure your outdoor items like, trash cans, furniture and other items.
Last night the Walker County Commission voted to starts at 6:30pm for the rest of 2024. The meetings will remain at the Courthouse Annex III in LaFayette. The meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is in search of a stolen truck. A blue, 2016 Toyota Tacoma was stolen from a residence at 114 Pleasant Ridge Circle in Rock Spring. The incident happened on Wednesday at 7:45 in the morning. The truck has Georgia tag SEA 2593. You can see a picture of the truck and the theif getting in it on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
