Walker County has finished work on failing culverts. The work has been completed along Glentana Road and Villanow Mill Creek Road. A contractor installed new box culverts on both roads. The project costs Walker County $480,000.
The Walker County Detention Center reported 6 felony bookings on Wednesday. Among those arrested include 33-year-old Brandon DaSean Hawkins. Hawkins faces 3 counts of willful obstruction of Law Enforcement, harassing phone calls, simple battery against law enforcement, criminal trespassing and other charges. 34-year-old Jessica Dawn Cox was booked on charges of possession of meth and possession of drug related objects.
Officials in Dalton are still trying to figure out what has caused two fires this week at Mohawk Industries. The fires happened Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week. No injuries were reported and employees returned to work both nights. The building has been deemed safe and works at the plant continues.
