A heat advisory is in effect today for Walker County. The advisory will last from 11am until 8pm. Forecasters say hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat related illnesses. City and County government offices are back open today after being closed yesterday for the holiday.

A couple of good restaurant health inspections for the golden arches. The McDonalds in LaFayette scored a 97. The McDonalds in Chickamauga scored a 100.

A 14-year-old Rossville child remains hospitalized after being accidentally shot while playing with a gun. The incident happened about 9:30 Wednesday morning at a home on Neal Drive. Police say a 12-year-old and 14-year-old were playing with a firearm when it discharged striking the 14-year-old. The child underwent surgery at TC Thompson’s Children’s Hospital. The Catoosa County’s Sheriff’s Department is investigating.

Triple-A has their Tow-To-Go Program in place for this weekend. When someone calls Tow to Go, a tow truck is sent to transport the vehicle and the driver to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.
