Authorities in Chattooga County were busy last night. Two accidents with injuries in the county. There was a two vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 48 at Mahan Road. A separate accident with severe injuries occurred on Highway 27 near Farmersville Road. No further details are available on either crash.
Paving work continues today in LaFayette. Be advised that paving will begin today on Circle Drive. If you’re headed towards Atlanta today you’ll want to be aware of some roadwork. GDOT is performing maintenance on I-75 South around mile marker 306. The work will close the right southbound lane and the shoulder for about a half mile. The works begins at 9am this morning and should be finished by 3:30pm this afternoon.
The price of gas has jumped slightly in the state of Georgia. Locally we still have the best price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline. According to Triple-A, Catoosa-Dade-and-Walker Counties have the cheapest gas averaging $3.19 per gallon. State wide gas is $3.32 per gallon. That’s up about a penny since the 4th of July holiday. It’s costing you about $1.20 more to fill up your tank this year than it did last year.
Two felony arrests on Sunday in Walker County. 43-year-old Amy Renee White was booked on charges of possession of meth, drug related objects and driving on a suspended license. 36-year-old Stephanie Rae Ellis was arrested and charged with shoplifting and possession of fentanyl.
