In an investigation that took years, 2 men from northwest Georgia both pleaded guilty to hunting white-tailed deer on National Military Park property. William Edward Lough of Trenton and Jonathan Daniel Plaster of Rossville both entered their plea in federal court on April 16th to the illegal taking of wildlife. That’s according to a news release sent out Wednesday by Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Parks. The investigation involved multiple interview and hours of surveillance and search warrants to solve the case. Lough and Plaster admitted to hunting the 2 white-tailed deer and taking them from Tennessee into Georgia. A judge gave both men fines as punishment. Park officials say the Lookout Valley, Tennessee portion of the national military park has seen an increase in illegal hunting activity with most of it near Lookout Creek.

Both Walker and Dade County Fire Departments will receive new equipment on Monday. The Georgia Forestry Commission presented new wildfire equipment to some local fire departments yesterday morning. These donations were funded through grants. More than 10 counties who suffered from last year’s wildfires are receiving their donations. The new equipment includes Fire helmets, gloves, fire shirts, and more. Catoosa and Whitfield Counties receiving their equipment yesterday morning.

The latest restaurant inspection report. The Dari Dip in LaFayette scored a 95. Los Guerrero’s received a 100. La Familia in Rossville got a 90. The Hardees in Rossville and Chickamauga received a 100. The Hardees in LaFayette scored a 97.
Two felony arrests on Tuesday in Walker county. 35-year-old Tiffany Nicole Taylor was charged with felony shop lifting.
