11 felony arrests in Walker County on Tuesday. 37-year-old Lacy Dawn Bowman was booked on aggravated assault and hindering a 911 call. Michelle Magdalana Kendrick, 54-year-old, was charged with possession of meth. 65-year-old Gregory Allen Green was arrested on possession of fentanyl charges.

Dalton is hosting a training session this week in the fight against human trafficking. Over 150 professionals from four states are meeting at the Dalton Convention Center for the three-day training. Conference officials say the event focuses on recognizing signs of trauma and P-T-S-D, effective interviewing techniques and more.

Walker County rolled out a new inclusive playground at Walker Rocks Park yesterday. This new area gives children with any abilities the chance to play. The playground includes slides, rockers, climbing features, a rubber surface, and ramps for accessibilities. Walker County invested $406,519 dollars into this project, and have hopes of expanding the park, adding swings, a zipline, and other features.

Tuesday’s storms wrecked havoc in the area. A few thousand homes in Walker County were left without power. Crews worked through the night. Power was restored to all of Walker County by Wednesday afternoon.

A Walker County rescue, Best Friends and Hens stepped in to save two dogs recently. The animals has been abandoned by their owner and left to fend for themselves. The two dogs were saved in a hoarding case. They were living two to three months on their own without an owner and living in conditions where there were feces, mold, and other bacteria. After four days with the animal rescue, the dogs are in much better condition. The dogs are scheduled to be neutered on August 15th. After that, they can be adopted.
