Rossville police arrested a wanted felon yesterday. The man fled from police in a stolen vehicle with a stolen tag. The chase ended in a crash on Oak Street. The suspect is recovering after receiving minor injuries.

Some more details on a story from earlier this week. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has awarded Walker County a $20,000 grant. The funds will be used to begin a phased resurvey of historic resources in Walker County. The first phase will begin in the southeastern portion of the county. Surveyors will catalog the correct age of buildings, bridges, fortifications and monuments. The last historic survey was completed in Walker County in 2009. Researchers plan to start there and begin field work later this year. A final report will be finished by early in 2026. The data will be available online through the website of Georgia’s Natural, Archaeological and Historic Resources.

The World’s Longest Yard Sale is underway and runs until Sunday. The sale covers six states and 690 miles.
