Monday’s arrest report in Walker County shows five felony arrests.  Among those, 25-year-old Josiah Matthew Brackus faces numerous charges including two counts of Child Molestation – Aggravated sodomy, two counts of statutory rape, two counts of aggravated child molestation and three counts of furnishing obscene material to a minor.
In an unrelated case, 56-year-old James Perry Chasteen faces felony computer pornography charges.
The proposed budget for the 2025 fiscal year will be submitted at tomorrow’s Board of Commissioners meeting.  The budget will be available after the meeting for review online at the county’s website.  Two public hearings will be held on the budget.  August 22nd and September 12th.  Both hearings will be at the Courthouse Annex III.  The board will consider the budget at its September 12th meeting.
Blood Assurance is holding a blood drive tomorrow at the Bank of LaFayette.  The Blood Mobile will be set up between noon and 4pm tomorrow.  Blood Assurance says one donation can save three lives.  If you’re planning on donating tomorrow make sure you eat a good meal, avoid energy drinks and drink lots of water.
LaFayette Football gets underway next Friday night on WQCH.  The Ramblers open the season on the road against Chattooga.  Home opener is set for August 23rd against Gordon Lee.  That’s the first of three straight at home followed by Dade County and Trion.
