Fall Armyworms are becoming a serious problem in Georgia. Many homeowners and commercial growers said the pests are infesting their land. The Fall Armyworm is the caterpillar to a moth. The adult moth will lay eggs in the grass starting the life cycle all over again. 80% of the counties in Georgia are reporting cases of the bugs. The first cases in Walker County were reported about a month ago. Armyworms are not harmful to humans but they will impact your yard and crops. You’ll notice dead spots typically turning up in hayfields.
