The Walker County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a Thursday night shooting in Chickamauga.  25-year-old Dakota Austin Bottomlee was shot and killed.  Police are looking for two males seen in the area earlier in Thursday.    The shooting happened on Johnson Road.  A 911 call was placed around midnight Thursday.  When deputies arrived, they discovered that Bottomlee had been shot.  Investigators are asking for anyone to contact them if they heard shots in the area between 9pm and 11pm on Halloween night.  If you have any information on the shooting contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Office or the Georgia Bureau of the Investigation.
Tomorrow is election day.  The polls will open at 7am and close at 7pm.  Stay tuned to Georgia 93-7 tomorrow night.  We’ll have election updates throughout the evening.
The sewer redirection project continues in Walker County starting tomorrow.  McFarland Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from McFarland Gap to Catherine Street.  The closure is expected to last two weeks.

The GHSA has made a change to the football playoffs in the state.  Friday night was the last night of the regular season for our local teams.  The GHSA has announced that this Friday will be the make-up weeks for game impacted by the hurricane.  First round of the playoffs will be November 15th and 16th.  Round 2 is November 22nd.  November 29th was initially scheduled as a bye week, it will now be the quarterfinal round.  The semi-finals and the state championships have not been changed.
