Administrators with Walker County Schools and law enforcement are investigating an incident involving a school bus on Wednesday.  Superintendent Damon Raines says a school bus driver was moving at a slow speed on Ridgeland High’s campus when the driver was forced to make an abrupt stop over an unexpected disruption.  Raines said no injuries were reported to the driver at that time of the stop or during the bus route.  Raines said injuries have been reported since the incident happened, which school officials are currently investigating.  The name of the driver and details surrounding the “unexpected disruption” have not been released.
A fatal hit and run happened Saturday morning in Chattooga County.  The accident happened on Georgia 114 near Ragland Road. It occurred at 5:30am Saturday.  The Georgia State Patrol is asking for the community to help identify the person who fled the scene.  If you have any information on the accident, please reach out to the Georgia State Patrol post in Rome.  Further details of the accident have not been released.
Today is Veteran’s Day.  City of LaFayette offices will be closed.  Today’s trash service will be collected tomorrow.
LaFayette High School wrestling kicks off their season tomorrow.  The Rambler Rumble is set for tomorrow at 5:30pm on the downtown square.  The boys will wrestle Gordon Lee.  The girls will face LFO.  Two first year head coaches for LaFayette wrestling.  Jacob Harris takes over the boys program.  Harris is a 2000 graduate of Ridgeland High School.  Hannah King takes over the girls program.  King is a 2012 LaFayette graduate.
