The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding two missing teens. Tobias Gambrell is 14-years old. Gambrell left a location on Roswell Road sometime between 1:30am and 8am Sunday morning. He was spotted yesterday at a Mapco gas station on Lee Highway in Chattanooga. Gambrell is possibly with his 13-year-old girlfriend Bria Leming. Leming ran away from Fort Oglethorpe Sunday night around 6:30pm. If you have any information on where these two may be, contact the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office.
There was an incident with a firearm yesterday at LaFayette High School. According to school superintendent Damon Raines, a young child was left unattended and took a handgun from the vehicle they arrived in. The child started walking towards the school entrance when a school resource officer was notified. The officer removed the gun from the child. No lockdown was necessary as the incident was quickly contained. School operations continued without interruption. The Superintendent says school and law enforcement authorities are working with the family of the child and the appropriate state agencies.
The Walker County Board of Commissioners will meet on Thursday. The meeting happens at the Courthouse Annex III on South Main Street in LaFayette. You can watch the meeting on the county’s Facebook page. Several items are on the agenda for Thursday including the ordinance to amend the alcoholic beverage code, amendment to the land use code and permits regarding solar energy systems.
This week’s restaurant health inspection report shows a 96 for both Wardlaw’s Lucky Eye Q and Vienna Beer Garten in LaFayette. The Wendy’s in Chickamauga got a 100.
LaFayette High School Wrestling program has their Rambler Rumble on the square this afternoon. Head to downtown LaFayette to see the boys face Gordon Lee. The girls will take on LFO. It all starts at 5:30pm this afternoon.
