The Walker County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-year-old at Ridgeland High School on Tuesday for assaulting two students. The school incident report says Clark Imhoff stabbed the victim in the hand with a pencil after they offered Imhoff an oatmeal cream pie. The sheriff’s office says they arrested Imhoff at the school, where he was transported to the Walker County Jail and turned over to detention personnel.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to search for Brayden Whatley. Whatley is wanted in connection to the murder of Dakota Bottomlee on Halloween. Police have three people in custody in relation to the shooting. Whatley remains at large. 23-year-old, black male. Whatley is 5-feet 5-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. Whatley is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him please call the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
A contractor with the Georgia Department of Transportation will be installing pedestrian and signal light upgrades in Walker County. There are 8-locations in the county set to get the upgrades. The works is expected to be completed by the end of September of next year. Highway 27 at State Road 95 in Rock Spring is set for work. Four locations in LaFayette, Highway 27 at Pearl Drive, Highway 27 at Lake Howard Road, Highway 27 at Round Pond Road and West Main at Cherokee Street.
AAA expects a record number of travelers next week for the Thanksgiving holiday. 2.3 million Georgians are expected to travel 50 miles or more for the holiday. Travel numbers are expected to be up nationwide. 79.9 million people are set to travel next week.
