No school in Walker County this week. Classes resume on Monday December 2nd.
The City of LaFayette will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. Thursday’s garbage service will be picked up on Wednesday along with the regular Wednesday pick up.
Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Bruce Thompson passed away yesterday. Thompson’s office made the announcement. The release called Thompson a visionary leader and tireless advocate for the people.
Chattooga County Coroner Earle Rainwater was recognized last week in Warner Robbins. Rainwater was honored by the Georgia Coroners Association for being the longest sitting coroner in the state. Rainwater has held the position in Chattooga County for 48 years.
Big win Friday night for the Ramblers and Lady Ramblers. Both picked up road wins against Whitwell. The girls won 61-34. Raven Yancy led the way with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals. The boys won 84-23. Freshman Bryson Penson led the Ramblers with 15 points.
