The City of LaFayette will be closed Thursday and Friday this week for Thanksgiving. Thursday’s garbage pick-up will happen on Wednesday, along with the regular Wednesday pickup. The Walker County Tax Commissioners Office will also be closed Thursday and Friday.
A Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a two-car accident yesterday. The crash happened on Highway 27 in Summerville in front of the Little Caesar’s. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

A pursuit last night on I-75 ended in a crash. The single vehicle accident happened just before the Ringgold exit headed north bound. The drives of the car was fleeing from police, traveling at speeds over 100 miles per hour. The Georgia State Police said there was entrapment and serious injuries in the crash. No further details have been made available.
Chattooga County will be looking for a new Animal Control Director. Sole Commissioner Blake Elsberry said yesterday that Mark Finster had submitted his resignation and will be leaving his position in mid-December.
