The Rossville Fire Department responded to a call about a vehicle fire just before 1am yesterday.  The incident happened at 116 Walnut Avenue.  When police arrived on the scene, the building next to the vehicle was also on fire.  The Rossville Fire Department received assistance from the Walker County Fire and Rescue.  The blaze was extinguished by 1:17am.  The damage to the building was minimal.  The commercial motor vehicle involved in the blaze was ruled a total loss.  Thankfully no one was hurt in the fire.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a thief.  Police say that on November 16th at around 11:15pm an individual entered a residence on Crabtree Road.  Several power tools were stolen.  If you have any information, contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.

The LaFayette High School Boys and Girls basketball team picked up wins already this week over Unity.  The Ramblers are back in action again on Friday night.  They travel to Ridgeland in the 1st region game of the season.
