Walker County emergency crews responded to a head on crash yesterday in Chickamauga. Details on the accident are limited. Two vehicles hit head on, on Johnson Road near Ridgewood Drive. Injuries were severe and at least one person was trapped in a vehicle. We’ll have more information on this story as soon as it’s available.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens about scam calls. The Sheriff’s Office says that they have gotten reports of people calling residents claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office. They are asking residents for money, bitcoin or green dot cards. The scammers say it’s away for you to get out of trouble or take care of a warrant. The Walker County Sheriff’s Office says they will never contact you asking for money, bitcoin or green dot cards. The Sheriff’s Office also reminds you to protect your personal information and don’t ever give money to anyone you don’t know.
The Walker County Detention Center had only one felony booking on Sunday. 26-year-old Patrick Da’vince Bell was arrested on charges of being a Pedestrian Under the Influence. Bell was also charged with disorderly conduct, criminal attempt to commit a felony, criminal trespassing and seven counts of simple assault.
The LaFayette Girls basketball team is back in action tonight. The Lady Ramblers will face Calhoun at home at 6pm. The boys were supposed to play tonight but that game has been rescheduled as Calhoun is still in the football playoffs.
