The City of Rossville has suspended its recreational programs. The city voted Monday night to stop the Rossville Athletic Assocation. The city has cited insurance concerns as the reason. The Rossville Athletic Association was holding games on the field without insurance according to city officials. It’s unclear at this time how long it will take to get the insurance situation resolved.
Seven felony arrests on Monday. 43-year-old David Michael Frazee faces felony charges of possession, purchase, sale or manufacturing of marijuana. Four of those arrested were charged with felony violation of probation. 50-year-old Jeremy Wayne Dillan was booked on possession of meth charges.
The Walker County Board of Commissioners will meet tomorrow. The meeting is set for 6:30pm at the Courthouse Annex III at 201 South Main Street in LaFayette. You can watch the proceedings on the county’s Facebook page.
GNTC has an open house tomorrow. All campuses for GNTC will participate including the Walker County campus in Rock Spring. The open house is from 10am-6pm. It’s an opportunity for perspective students to tour the campus and get answers to questions on enrollment, financial aid and more. GNTC is waiving the application fee for those who attend the event.
