A portion of Indiana Street is currently closed due to flooding following heavy rainfall in the LaFayette area.
According to the LaFayette Police Department, Indiana Street at Park Street has been closed because of water covering the roadway.
Police are asking motorists to use caution while traveling throughout the area, particularly where water may be covering roads. Drivers should avoid attempting to travel through flooded roadways and seek an alternate route when necessary.
The closure will remain in place until conditions improve and the roadway can safely reopen.
Motorists traveling around LaFayette are encouraged to remain alert for additional areas of standing or high water.
