LaFayette Parks and Recreation is looking for referees to help officiate youth soccer games during the upcoming fall season and is asking both new and returning officials to sign up in the coming weeks.
The department is encouraging anyone interested in serving as a referee to complete its referee interest form so staff can gather contact information ahead of the season. Returning referees are also required to complete the form.
To help prepare officials for the busy fall schedule, LaFayette Parks and Recreation plans to hold a preseason referee training session for both experienced and first-time referees. The training is designed to review rules, expectations, and game management before league play begins.
Officials say completing the form is important to ensure referees receive information about the upcoming training and other season details.
Anyone interested in officiating youth soccer this fall is asked to submit the referee interest form by Sunday, Aug. 2.
