According to the LaFayette PD, residents should be aware of a scam that is occurring going around. Residents are being contacted and asked to take money out of their bank accounts and take it to a Bitcoin machine in the area and invest the money into Bitcoin. The scammers are then taking that money. Residents are not only losing their money, but they have lost any protection that is provided by banks and the FDIC insurance provided by banks.
Be sure to report any activity to the LaFayette Police.
