LaFayette, March 25 th –In celebration of community collaboration, the City of LaFayette will host a dedication ceremony for the newly constructed restrooms at Queen City Lake. Scheduled for Thursday, March 28th at 12pm, this event marks a milestone in the ongoing partnership between the city and Walmart LaFayette employees.
Through the Walmart Volunteerism Always pays program, wherein funds are matched for every hour volunteered by Walmart employees, a $8,000 of the $16,000 project was realized by the hands on involvement of Walmart volunteers. The City of LaFayette contributed significant elements such as electricity, septic and the roof of the facility.
This marks the second collaborative effort between the city and Walmart. In 2020, a picnicking pavilion was similarly erected through this partnership.
The dedication ceremony is open to all members of the community who wish to celebrate this
successful collaboration.
