Congrats to the LaFayette High School Wrestling team. They got their season underway at the Calhoun Kick Off Duals. LaFayette finished 1st and 4th.
The A team took a series of dominating wins:
- Lafayette vs. Calhoun: The team secured a commanding victory, triumphing over their opponents with a score of 60-19.
- Lafayette vs. Kings Ridge Dual: In another impressive display, Lafayette achieved a perfect score of 84-0 against Kings Ridge Dual, leaving no room for doubt about their prowess on the mat.
- Lafayette vs. North Murray: The team continued their dominance, with a resounding victory and a score of 60-20 against North Murray.
- Lafayette vs. Heritage: The winning streak persisted as Lafayette triumphed over Heritage with a score of 55-22, showcasing their versatility and strength across different matchups.
The B team achieved notable victories against Gordon Lee and the Adairsville Varsity.
Noteworthy performances came from Jacob Hamilton, Isaac Hamilton, Haygen Baker, Malachi Miller, and Levi Ledford, all of whom went undefeated over the weekend.
The team’s coaching staff expressed their pride in the wrestlers’ hard work and commitment. The victories at the Calhoun Kick Off Duals set a positive tone for the rest of the season, highlighting the team’s potential for future success.
The LHS wrestling team is gearing up for their next challenge as they travel to Rockmart tomorrow.
